Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April - Volunteer Recruitment Fair. The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway will be open for members of the public to come and meet our volunteers. Learn what opportunities exist in all departments and understand what joining us as a volunteer entails.

 

Saturday 8th April - Fish and Chips Special (The Cheltenham Fryer). The train departs from Toddington at 7:00pm, returning at about 9:30pm. A leisurely Saturday evening ride through the Cotswold countryside with a large fish and chip meal delivered to your reserved seats by our train stewards.

 

Monday 17th April - Easter Eggspress - An eggciting combination of steam trains, the Easter Bunny and a host of activities bringing Easter fun for all the family. Make your own Easter bonnet and wear it on your visit. Normal ticket prices apply.

 

Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April - Wartime in the Cotswolds. Take a trip back in time and enjoy the railway's nostalgic and light-hearted look at life in the Cotswolds in the 1940s. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.

 

Saturday 13th May - Fish and Chips Special (The Cheltenham Fryer). The train departs from Toddington at 7:00pm, returning at about 9:30pm. A leisurely Saturday evening ride through the Cotswold countryside with a large fish and chip meal delivered to your reserved seats by our train stewards.

 

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May - Cotswold Bricks and Trains Weekend. Organised by the Southern Lego Train Club. A brand new event at the railway! This will be a great opportunity for everyone - not just children - to experience the thrill of building models out of small bricks. We have arranged for a 2 day display of models from all around the country - of all shapes and sizes - there will be lots to see and do. There will be a small entry charge to this display.

 

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May - Spring Steam and Real Ale Weekend at Toddington and Winchcombe. Raise a glass to real ale brewers from all over the country. Normal ticket prices for those wishing to travel, but for those planning just to sample the ales, there will be a small admission charge.

 

Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th and Monday 29th May - Cotswold Festival of Steam. The The theme this year is 'Workhorses of Steam' and visiting engines will bolster the railway's home fleet! Three exciting and packed days of railway adventure for everyone.  Please note that entry to the site will be by event ticket only. There is no free entry or access to the stations without a ticket.

 

Saturday 10th June (Mid-summer Murder Mystery evening) - Fish and Chips Special (The Cheltenham Fryer). The train departs from Toddington at 7:00pm, returning at about 9:30pm. A leisurely Saturday evening ride through the Cotswold countryside with a large fish and chip meal delivered to your reserved seats by our train stewards plus the excitement of solving the whodunnit.

 

Sunday 11th June - Classic Vehicle Clubs Day. Combine the scene of historic road transport with a backdrop of vintage trains. Normal ticket prices for those wishing to travel, but for those just planning to admire the cars there will be a small admission charge.

 

Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June - Day Out With Thomas. Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends visit the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.

Sunday 9th July - The 10th Classic Bus Rally & Running Day. Toddington car park will be crammed with buses of every shape, type and age from throughout the region. We will be running services to Broadway Village and Station site and maybe beyond. Normal ticket prices will apply.

 

Friday  21st July - Fish and Chips Special (The Cheltenham Fryer). The train departs from Toddington at 7:00pm, returning at about 9:30pm. A leisurely Friday evening ride through the Cotswold countryside with a large fish and chip meal delivered to your reserved seats by our train stewards.

 

Friday 28th to Sunday 30th July - Heritage Diesel Festival and Open Day. A chance to re-live the 60s and 70s with our superbly restored collection of heritage diesel locomotives. Please note that entry to the site will be by ticket only. There is no free entry.

 

Tuesdays 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th August - Teddy Bear Tuesdays. Ride the Teddy Bear railcar special and join the Teddy Bears at Winchcombe Station. Bring your own favourite Teddy Bear. Normal prices apply.

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October - Cotswolds Food & Drink Fayre. Following on from the success of our first Cotswolds Food and Drink Fayre last year, we are planning a bigger and better event for 2017. An even larger variety of Artisan Food and Drink producers from around the region will be selling their products at Toddington Station. Free entry to the Fayre. Normal train ticket prices apply.

 

Saturday 28th October - Halloween 'Steam and Scream' Special. Get ready for Hallowe'en and join the 'Spooky Specials' throughout the day at either Cheltenham Racecourse or Toddington Station. Come dressed for the occasion. Normal ticket prices apply.

 

Saturday 18th November (lunchtime) - Fish and Chips Special (The Cheltenham Fryer). The train departs from Toddington at 1:00pm returning at about 2:45pm. A leisurely Saturday afternoon ride through the Cotswold countryside with a large fish and chip meal delivered to your reserved seats by our train stewards. Note corrected date - now 18th November, not 11th.

 

2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd & 24th December - Santa Specials. Two great ways to visit Santa: either from Cheltenham Race Course by steam train all the way to Winchcombe (or the North Pole!) through the long tunnel, and visit Santa and his elves in his grotto; or from Toddington Station by an early 1960's diesel rail car with Santa and his young elves on board the train, spending lots of time sitting with each family.

 

Saturday 9 December – Christmas Carols by Evening Steam Train in aid of Winston's Wish, the leading childhood bereavement charity in the UK.

 

Friday 29th and Saturday 30th December - Mixed Traction Christmas Cracker. Two days of intensive steam and diesel running.

 

Sunday 31 December, Monday 1st January 2017 – Last chance to ride this season.
