Travel with us by steam strain from Toddington to Winchcombe station and visit Santa and his helpers in our Christmas Grotto.

New this year! Extra trains run late afternoon to see Santa amidst the coloured lights of Winchcombe Station.

After travelling on the train from Toddington to Winchcombe you will meet the elves and helpers who assist Santa in his work. Then, of course, there is the experience of meeting the great man himself in his Christmas Grotto. Whilst at Winchcombe you are invited to have a complimentary mince pie and a hot or cold drink.

Everyone gets to see Santa and each child will receive a present. The quality of these presents and the festive atmosphere make this one of the best visits to Santa in the area.

Children under 2 years of age may travel free if they don't occupy a seat, but will only receive a token gift. If you wish them to have a larger present please purchase a child's ticket at the time of booking.

Advance booking is essential as many trains sell out completely early in the season. Please indicate a second and third choice of date and time on your booking form as a precaution.

Refunds cannot be given once a booking has been accepted. We may, however, be able to alter the time and date of travel subject to a £10 administration charge.

Santa Specials only run from Toddington Station. Winchcombe and Cheltenham Race Course stations are closed throught this period.

On the day, please ensure you have your tickets with you at all time without them we regret you will be unable to visit Santa.

Although every effort will be made to run the trains as advertised, the GWSR reserves the right to cancel, alter or suspend any service without notice. The liability in the event of cancellation will be limited to a refund of the appropriate part of the fare.

How to find the GWR

Travelling to Toddington Station

By car: The station is 10 miles east of M5 junction 9, near the junction of the B4077 and the B4632, between Winchcombe and Broadway. Follow the brown signs to the station where there is free car parking.
By bus: Castleways operate a bus service from Royal Well in Cheltenham to Winchcombe, Toddington, Broadway and Evesham. Please check with them for times. Telephone 01242 602949.
