Toddington

Toddington will be the centre of operations of the GWR175 event with the following amongst the attractions:

  • A display illustrating the history of the GWR presented by the Steam museum in Swindon.
  • Over the first weekend of the event a display of nameplates, numberplates, shedplates, station totems and other railwayana.
  • Also over the first weekend there will be a valuation desk for your railwayana items.
  • On Saturday 5th June there will be a railwayana auction. Currently this is standing at approximately 350 items, The auction will start at 11am.
  • A display of models from the Steam museum in Swindon including The Great Bear, Iron Duke, Burton Agnes Hall and Evening Star
  • A display of privately built model locomotives up to 7 1/4 inch gauge. It is also hoped that some larger gauge models will also be on display. A number of the models will be in steam and operating on lengths of demonstration track. The models on display will include:
    • 2x 15xx Pannier tanks
    • Metro tank
    • 1366 and 1370 tank engines including wagons and a Toad brake van
    • Prairie tank
    • Manor
    • A partly completed Grange
    • 4-4-0 County
    • 1101 class 0-4-0 saddle tank
    • Class 14 diesel hydraulic
    • 9F
    • Castle
    • 28xx in 5 1/2in and 7 1/4 gauge
    • Saint
    • 45xx small prairie
  • There will be access to Toddington yard
  • Trade stands
  • The NRM's broad gauge full size replica Iron Duke
  • 18000 the gas turbine locomotive
  • 5051 Earl Bathurst
  • 3845 in Barry condition as an example of the enormous amount of work undertaking by restoration groups.

As the car park at Toddington will be taken up with displays and stands all parking at Toddington will be in the field behind platform 2. This will be sign posted.

All of these are subject to availability and last minute changes.
