We have been unable to formally determine ownership of the formation from Broadway to Honeybourne, as Sustrans is not a statutory authority and local authorities (who are) do not appear willing to take the liabilities. We hear that the formation may have reverted to the BR residuary board - its previous owners - but cannot confirm this. In any event this will not be of operational concern to us for a very long time and the current situation does not seem to disadvantage any long term plans we may have to extend first to Broadway then beyond - should our volunteers and shareholders so desire. In addition it does not require us to accept additional financial and resource liabilities for trackbed that we would not be using for some time to come. We are monitoring the situation and are in contact with local Councils.
