Welcome to the new GWR photo galleries, and our new video gallery. We have assembled a collection of images representing many aspects of our railway, which we hope you’ll enjoy. Please note that all images are copyright © GWSR plc, unless otherwise stated.

To use the photo galleries, click on the thumbnail to view a larger image. You can view a slide show of all the images in each gallery. Our galleries are optimised for a broadband connection, and a display of 1024x768 pixels or greater. Each image is approximately 50KB to 100KB in size.

Below each photograph is information about the file size of the originals. If you would like a higher quality copy of the originals (for publicity purposes, for example), the GWSR is happy to supply them on request, provided that you respect the copyright.

We also have a small video gallery. Please respect our limited bandwidth allowance, by saving  the videos to your own hard disk, if you’d like to view them again.

In order to make them easier to use, our photo galleries open in a separate window. The slide show button will cycle through all the pictures in that section, with a delay of approximately 6 seconds between each picture.

If you would like to submit photographs for publication on this website, please email them to gallery (at gwsr.com). We regularly receive requests to reprint photographs from our website, both for use in GWR publicity material and from publications such as Steam Railway Magazine. When you submit photographs to us, please state if you do not want your photographs to be used in such a way, otherwise we will assume that we can use them as we wish. We will always do our best to ensure that your copyright is respected, and where applicable, any fees will be passed on to you. Images must be 1600x1200 (or better) digital, 6x4 prints or 35mm slides (for non-digital material, please post to the Webmaster at the address on the contacts page). Please note that we are unable to return any material submitted to us.
