35006 is owned by “The 35006 Locomotive Company Ltd”, which was specially created for the purpose of enlarging ownership of the loco and so raise funds for the restoration work. The 35006 Locomotive Company Ltd has no connection with the
P&O shipping company, after which the locomotive is named. The company exists to restore the locomotive to full working order, with a view to it once again pulling trains.
No dividend has been paid on shares, and it is not the intention of the board of directors to pay a dividend in the future, all funds going toward the restoration and subsequent operation of the locomotive.
The company is supported by the 35006 Locomotive Society which has approximately 330 members. Society members work as volunteers, performing the physical task of restoring the locomotive, they also undertake administration and fund
raising duties.
Society membership costs £12 per year and society members receive a quarterly newsletter, which includes a full report on the progress of the restoration work.
