Day out with Thomas*
Once again, Thomas and Friends are visiting the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway over the weekend of the 30th of September & 1st of October, 2006. This will be an exciting weekend with all the usual characters from the late Reverend A W Awdry’s wonderful books coming to life. The activities will take place at Toddington and Winchcombe stations. Please note that there will be no car parking at Winchcombe – the only way to get there will be by train from either Cheltenham Race Course or Toddington and there is plenty of car parking at both stations. Trains are scheduled to be pulled by Thomas, one of our “home fleet” of steam locomotives and Diesel, from Toddington to Winchcombe and back, departing from Toddington at 10:00 am and every 35 minutes thereafter. Trains depart from Toddington, for Winchcombe TODDINGTON - Trevor the Traction Engine and George the Steam Roller will be hard at work at Toddington while the Narrow Gauge Railway, located on the far side of Toddington’s permanent car park, will give free rides. Bertie the Bus will be ‘racing’ Thomas between Winchcombe and Toddington – so make sure you are in good voice to cheer! There will also be steam and diesel locomotives on display, so you can have a look inside. Other attractions include a bouncy castle, children's playground, the railway’s own fire fighters with their Fire Engines while Dave the DJ will provide musical entertainment. The Fat Controller, Sir Topham Hatt, will be there too. Thomas videos can be watched and refreshments will be available at our cafeteria – the Flag and Whistle. A wide range of Thomas items as well as books and videos will be on sale in the shop on platform one. WINCHCOMBE - See Toby the Tram Engine with Toad and the Troublesome Trucks. Visit Toby and ring his bell! Watch Thomas and Toby race each other through the station. There will be a bouncy castle and a Miniature Railway giving free rides along the platform. Martin will be providing musical entertainment and there will be more Thomas videos to watch! A range of Thomas items will be available for the discerning Thomas enthusiast in the main station building. The Fat Controller will be making regular appearances, to keep everything in order!
