Red Timetable   Our timetable is colour-coded. The key on the left tells you what timetable will be used on the dates highlighted in that colour. For times of trains, see the timetable below with the colour bar that corresponds to your chosen date of travel.

Trains operate only on dates highlighted. Please note that the brown dates are special events when a different timetable or other conditions may apply. Some stations may also be closed on those days and there may be a separate entrance fee.

All trains running to the red timetable are steam hauled. The last return trip from Cheltenham Race Course to Toddington or Winchcombe is 16:00.

All trains are steam hauled, except the last train of the day (marked with d) which is diesel hauled. The last return trip from Cheltenham Race Course to Toddington is 15:20. Please note that Gotherington Halt has a short platform. Passengers wishing to alight should check with the guard or station staff to indicate in which coach they should travel. Trains will also run to this timetable on the 1st of January 2009.

  • 4th-6th July: Diesel Gala
  • 27th and 28th September: 'Day Out with Thomas'
  • 18th and 19th October: Steam & Vintage Rally
  • 25th and 26th October: Diesel Gala
  • Gold dates in December before Christmas: Santa Specials
    (advance booking essential)
  • 27 December: Diesel Gala
  • 29th and 30th December: Steam Gala

Other special events may take place on some days, including themed trains, and classic car days.  However, trains run to the advertised timetables and normal fares apply, although additional trains may also run. Find out more by visiting 'Travelling' and 'Events' on our website.

In addition to the 2008 dates above, we are also running New Year trains on the 1st of January 2009. Services will be running to the blue timetable.

Please note that Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway Plc will do its best to run trains to the advertised timetables but reserves the right to alter train times, substitute locomotives or, under exceptional circumstances, cancel trains without prior notice, and accepts no liability for any loss, inconvenience or delay thereby caused.
