As one walker starts back towards Toddington, two more approach the half way mark at the site of Broadway railway Station.
One hundred and twenty
eight people took part in the sponsored walk which is generating
funds towards the extension of the railway five miles from
Toddington to Broadway. Refreshments were provided at Laverton and
Broadway. The first walker completed the ten mile hike in 2 hours
and 40 minutes, with all walkers back safely by 3pm, five hours
after the start of the walk.
Despite a sharp shower
just before the walk commenced at 10am, the weather was kind with
just a few short showers in the afternoon.
