Suddenly Christmas
seems to be on us - the shops are full of Christmas gifts, the
Christmas lights are going on in towns and villages and despite the
gloomy economic outlook, the excitement is growing!
Top of your list of
things to do with the kids must be seeing Santa and it would be
hard to think of a better way to reach Santa's Grotto than by steam
train! The GWR is once again running its ever-popular Santa
Specials throughout December but the team is warning that tickets
are selling very fast indeed.
Says Colin Fewell who,
with his dedicated band of volunteers is organising the GWR's Santa
experience: "More than three-quarters of our tickets have now been
sold and several trains are already full, especially those near to
Christmas. But there are tickets still for most days
especially early in the month.
He adds that for the
first time, the railway is seeing a growth in corporate bookings.
"It seems that the company family Christmas party is running out of
steam so they are looking to the GWR! We have had enquiries and
bookings from several local firms wanting to provide something a
little bit different for their staff and families."
You can find full
details on how to book by clicking here or
telephone Toddington station on 01242 621 405 between 10.30 am and
2pm to check seat availability and book by credit card.
The trains start from
Toddington station (free car park) and run to picturesque
Winchcombe station where Santa is visiting us for this special
occasion. The ticket price guarantees seats on the train and
includes a good quality present for the children as well as
refreshments including a hot mince pie . And of course the
priceless experience of meeting Santa himself!
