Damp weather didn’t dampen Diesel spirits

There was plenty of variety both in terms of weather and motive
power at the GWR's Autumn Diesel Gala over the weekend of October
24th and 25th. Those who ventured out
in the pouring rain on Saturday morning were later treated to some
fine and sunny spells with dramatic cloud-scapes, while the weekend
was punctuated on two or three occasions by rainbows. On
Sunday, there was again a mixture of sunshine and showers, but it
was unseasonably warm which helped make the unheated carriages a
little more bearable. Here are the first shots by our
resident photographer, Jack Boskett, of a weekend that many
visitors are talking about as one of the best diesel events in the
country. All four shots were taken on Sunday.
It has to be said that the Honeybourne Line puts on a pretty
good show with an entertaining variety of traction. This year
has seen record numbers of visitors to the railway's diesel
events. If you missed them, you missed a treat. But if
you were there, then please share your comments and pictures with
