The Cheltenham Open is one of the major Festivals that take
place at Cheltenham Racecourse and, once again, special trains will
be taking racegoers to the races much as has happened since the
racecourse opened in 1912*. The trains run from Toddington
station and on Friday and Saturday, 13th and 14th, Classic
Hospitality is running special packages to the The
Cheltenham Open races that include train travel.
Tickets on these two days are only obtainable by booking with Classic
Hospitality
However, normal train services will be operating on Sunday 15th
to the Blue timetable (suitable departures from Toddington 10.30
and 12.15, returning from Cheltenham at 17.00). Normal fares
also apply.
*Cheltenham Racecourse station was built to bring both racegoers
and equestrian traffic to Prestbury Park, when the racecourse
opened in 1912. It was only ever open for race meetings and
the final trains to call there were for the Gold Cup in 1976. The
station was reopened in 2003 by HRH The Princess Royal.
