Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September sees a very special weekend on the GWR. Children's favourite Fireman Sam TM is visiting the railway, and will no doubt be keen to offer some tips to the GWR's very own fire brigade who will be displaying some of their fire engines and offering youngsters (of all ages!) the chance to practise being a fireman*.

It promises to be a weekend full of fun and games, so why not join one of the frequent steam or diesel trains from either Cheltenham Racecourse or Toddington and alight at Winchcombe to meet Fireman Sam TM. He will be making regular appearances throughout both days.

But that's not all! As well as the GWR's own firebrigade, there will be Punch and Judy and magic shows, a bouncy castle, treasure hunt, colouring and a model railway all at Winchcombe. And on your journey back to Toddington, instead of taking the train, you can travel on a genuine London double-decker bus which will be running between Toddington and Winchcombe at regular intervals throughout both days.

Normal fares apply (11 for adults, children 3-15 6.50 and senior citizens 9.50. A family ticket, for up to two adults and three children, costs just 30). All tickets allow unlimited travel on all GWR trains as well as the bus and entry into all the attractions. So it's amazing value for money!

The first trains to Winchcombe leave Cheltenham Racecourse at 10.15 and Toddington at 10.30. A arrive early and enjoy an action packed day on the 'Friendly line in the Cotswolds'!

Please note although there is plenty of free car parking at Toddington and Cheltenham Racecourse stations there will be no parking or admission to Fireman Sam at Winchcombe station.

For full details including the complete timetable for the day please visit our Fireman Sam page.

*We mean, of course, the sort of fireman who puts fires out, not the sort who keep the fires burning in the GWR's steam engines!
