Our programme for March and April

This is a steam engine

Following our usual maintenance period in January and February, the railway will get off to a storming start for the new season. We'll be running the blue timetable each Saturday and Sunday 4/5, 11/12, 18/19 and  25/26 March, with one steam train and normally a diesel railcar operating on each of the days. Mid-week trains operate to the blue timetable on Wednesdays 22 and 29 March.

On the weekends of 1/2, and 8/9 April we will be running the green timetable with one steam train, a heritage mainline diesel and a diesel railcar. You can ride on three different types of rail transport in one day! We're holding a Volunteer Recruitment Fair over the weekend of 1/2 April - you can learn more about it by clicking on the link. On Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5, and then on mid-week days Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 11/12/13, 18/19/20, and 25/26/27 April it’s the blue timetable.

Over Easter, from Good Friday 14 to Easter Monday 17 April it will be the red timetable with two steam trains and a diesel railcar. On Easter Monday 17 April there will be fun for all the family when you have the chance to catch one of the GWR "Easter Eggspress" specials.  Climb aboard at either Cheltenham Racecourse or Toddington Station for this 'eggsellent' event which will be taking place at Winchcombe Station. Click here for more information about the "Easter Eggspress" specials.

On the weekend of 22/23 April it is our very special “Wartime in the Cotswolds” event. This year the event will have a Battle of Britain theme. So transport yourself back to September 1940 and imagine you are waiting for a train at a small station on the Great Western Railway. Children are being evacuated to the coast, soldiers are going back to barracks, and aircrew are heading off to airfields in the South and West. "Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag, and smile, smile, smile."

On the weekend of 29/30 April it will be the red timetable again with two steam trains and a diesel railcar.
