The GWR is welcoming Thomas the Tank Engine back to the railway
on 25th & 26th September 2010.
Due to the landslip in the Gotherington area
there will be no trains to Cheltenham Racecourse during this event
and the only entrance will be at Toddington where plenty of
free car parking will be available. Trains will still be
running from Toddington to Winchcombe however with a
special shuttle service also operating between
Winchcombe and Gotherington through Greet Tunnel.
Thomas will be helped to haul the GWR's trains over both
weekends by his friends, click here for a timetable, and there are
lots of extra activities too including:
- Meeting Sir Topham Hatt, the Fat Controller
- Seeing the Troublesome trucks
- Watching the Punch and Judy and magic shows
- Craft and colouring activities
- Treasure hunt
- Games with the GWR's fire department
- Model railways
- Vintage routemaster bus rides
- Races between Thomas and the Routemaster bus
- All children receive a Junior Engineers Certificate and
a free sticker
- Visit the Imagination Station and enjoy the range of
activities there
The GWR is welcoming Thomas back after a short absence so
these days are bound to be busy so pre-booking is strongly
advised.
Advance ticket prices which are for all inclusive train
travel and site entrance are Adult £16, Child £10 (aged 3-16)
, family £42 (prices include an online booking fee). Children
aged under 3 are admitted and travel for free during this event and
