A brand new and unique event at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway.
St George’s Day sees the start of the award winning British Asparagus Festival in the Vale of Evesham, and the Asparagus Express will be launching this year's Festival!
The Asparagus Express steam train departs Broadway at 10.30am and will run non-stop to Cheltenham Racecourse, returning around midday. Expect plenty of Asparatastic Entertainment on the train & platforms including:
- Music with Fiddlesticks;
- The Asparamancer (Jemima Packington, is the world’s first and only Asparamancer, meaning she predicts the future using nothing more then a handful of asparagus spears tossed into the air, interpreting how they land);
- Bobby the Asparahorse;
- And not forgetting - Gus!
Tickets for this unique event (Asparagus Express) cost £25 including an asparagus and sausage bap and tea/coffee at Cheltenham. Refreshments will also be available from the buffet car service on the train.
Normal, GWSR tickets, vouchers, work permits etc are not valid for this event.
Important Note: There is no parking available at Broadway Station. Click here for details of how to get to the station and its location.
