The terminus of our line lies in the grounds of the world famous Cheltenham Racecourse. As you arrive, you can imagine the noise and excitement on race days. We bring thousands of racegoers to the races by pre-booked trains.
If instead of wanting to watch the locomotive run round from one end of the train to the other, you plan to go into Cheltenham Town, maybe for shopping or just to look around, then there are two ways to do this. As the station is out of town, it is not practical to walk in, so you can either catch a bus at the park and ride bus stop on the other side of the racecourse, or travel in by taxi.
1. There are Stagecoach bus services D and E Monday to Saturday every 10 minutes and service D half-hourly on Sundays and Bank Holidays to town from the racecourse park and ride site at the other side of the racecourse - a 20 minute walk from the station along the access road past the racecourse buildings.
2. Or you can call in advance for a taxi. We have a special arrangement with three taxi companies who will provide a ride into town dropping you near Marks and Spencer for £7 a taxi. Just contact one of the following companies in advance and the taxi will be waiting for you in the car park at Cheltenham Race Course station. The driver will then give you a card to arrange the return journey. Please note that, as this service is provided by outside companies, we can accept no liability for this service.
