Facilities on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway

The GWR has plenty of FREE parking at both Toddington and Cheltenham Racecourse stations. Disabled parking is reserved close to our entrances at both stations and most surfaces are suitable for wheelchairs and the infirm, although please be aware that Cheltenham Racecourse station is accessed via a slope. Volunteer staff will however be on hand to assist you if required.  Please note there will be no car parking available at Winchcombe station during the event.

The GWR has modern toilets with baby changing facilities at each station and limited facilities on board its historic coaches.

Light lunches and refreshments are available in the Flag & Whistle at Toddington and our 1950's Coffee shop 'The Coffee Pot' at Winchcombe station.  Many trains will also carry a buffet car stocking teas, coffees and light snacks.

Supervised level crossing of the tracks is possible via a ramp at Winchcombe and Toddington if this is required to avoid the need to use a footbridge.  Most trains have a converted compartment for wheelchair access and a ramp can be positioned to assist access with GWR volunteers happy to assist where needed.

Stations are located at Toddington (our main operating base), Winchcombe and Cheltenham Race Course station. Please note that there is ample FREE parking at both Toddington and Cheltenham stations, but no parking available at Winchcombe during this event.

The GWR is based in the area known as the Cotswolds, and is not far from the town of Cheltenham and city of Gloucester. It is approximately 30 miles from Worcester, 45 miles from Birmingham, 50 miles from Bristol, and 15 miles from the picturesque town of Stow-on-the-Wold.

Facilities for the Disabled

The GWR provides facilities for the disabled whereever possible. You can read our access statement here. However, on some of our trains facilities are limited. There is limited wheelchair and pushchair access to Daisy the DMU which shuttles from Toddington to Laverton; the Cheltenham to Winchcombe shuttle pulled by the Diesel loco does not have disabled facilities - if you are travelling with a wheelchair or a large buggy please time your journey to take the steam-hauled services (1030, 1200, 1330, 1500 from Cheltenham and 0945, 1115, 1245, 1415, 1605 from Winchcombe).
