Car parking is FREE at both Toddington and Cheltenham Racecourse stations (please note that there will be no parking at Winchcombe station). The biggest car park is at Cheltenham Racecourse station where there are stacks of parking spaces. We strongly recommend that you start and finish your day at Cheltenham as parking at Toddington is limited. Both Toddington and Cheltenham are easy to find and access from all directions including the M5 motorway. Click here for detailed information and directions.
Please look out for the direction signs to car parking at Toddington on the Stow side of the station. There will be no parking in the usual car park in Toddington station yard as this will be in use for stands and exhibits.
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway doesn't charge for car parking although if we involve a local charity to help organise car parking, they may ask you for a voluntary donation for the splendid and thankless task of organising cars in the car park instead of enjoying the day.
By public transport
If you're travelling by public transport, the best way to get to the railway is by Network Rail to Cheltenham Spa station (services from all over the country) and take the excellent Stagecoach bus Service D from the station to 'Racecourse Park & Ride' from where it is a 5-10 minute walk to the station. The bus service runs every 10 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, and every 30 minutes on Sundays. Journey time is 22 minutes, so allow 30 minutes from departing Cheltenham national rail station to Cheltenham Racecourse GWR station.
There are also good services from Cheltenham Royal Well bus station to Winchcombe station and to Toddington (short walk to the station, ask the driver to drop you as close to the station as possible). The timetables for the 606, 606S, W1 and W2 can be found here.
Special Bus from Cheltenham Station
Additionally, every day, a free connecting vintage bus will make several trips direct from Cheltenham Spa Network Rail station to Cheltenham Racecourse station in the morning and late afternoon. You can download a copy of the timetable by clicking here.
