After 58 years public train services will again run to Broadway Station! Thanks to the tireless work of our volunteers over many years we are delighted to open a further stretch of our line so you will be able to travel over 14 miles from the historic village of Broadway all the way to our Race Course Station at the town of Cheltenham.
Over these 4 special days we will be running an intensive timetable with hourly departures from Cheltenham and Broadway. Please note that trains will not be calling at Hayles Abbey Halt during this period. For passengers joining a train at Cheltenham Race Course, you may well find more seats available on the 12:05 train. You can download the timetable from here.
Please note that, although you'll be able to buy tickets on the day at our station booking offices, we strongly recommend that you buy the special tickets online to avoid long queues at the booking offices. Shareholders' and Members' ticket vouchers, together with all other concession tickets and passes, will not be valid for travel between 30 March and 2 April. Similarly, there will be no group-travel discounts over this period. All trains are going to be very busy - purchasing a ticket does not guarentee a seat! Please arrive early for your intended train.
If you are coming to the Railway by car we strongly recommend that you start your journey at Toddington or Cheltenham Race Course where there is plenty of free parking available. Car parking at Broadway Station is very limited and restricted to Disabled 'Blue Badge' holders. There are council-run pay-and-display car parks in Broadway Village, some 10 mins walk from our station. However there will also be a complimentary double-decker bus service running throughout each day between the centre of Broadway village and the station. More details of the timetable for this service will be available nearer the date. You can find detailed maps of our stations' locations here.
Making it Happen
The efforts of our volunteers would not have been possible without the generous donations and share purchases you, the public, have made over the years. We still rely on donations and share sales to help us expand and improve our facilities. Find out more about shares or donations by clicking on the links.
