Speaking Engagement Service

VolunteersThe Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway offers a speaker service for clubs and societies. We have a panel of speakers and they are happy to bring a laptop and data projector (if required) to one of your meetings to give an illustrated talk about the railway. We can talk about the history of the line, its closure and restoration, recent events, plans for the future, facilities for the public and the work of our volunteers.

Talks can be given during the day or evening. Presentations normally last one to two hours but can be shortened if required to suit the needs of the event and the organisation concerned.

Here's an endorsement following a talk by one of our regular speakers to a local group: 'I just wanted to say thank you for coming along and sharing your passion for the railways and the GWSR.  It was very informative and people were surprised by how much goes on there and how it operates. I wish you and your organisation every success in the future and once again thank you for an excellent evening.'

Cotswolds ViewAnd here's another: 'Once again, thank you for your most interesting, thoroughly informative and very enjoyable presentation on The Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway to The Arts Society Arden at our Winter Lunch at Copt Heath recently. With all good wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful and Successful New Year in 2019.'

We normally ask for a minimum donation to the railway of £50 where appropriate or £1 per head if greater. In addition, for locations some distance from the railway, our speakers may require travelling expenses and, if applicable, overnight accommodation. These would always be agreed in advance between the speaker and the person making the booking.

Please contact us by e-mail or via our Contact Us page (select the 'Speaking Engagements' option) to enquire about making a booking for a speaker. We will supply a 'Speaker Engagement Request Form' on which you will be asked to supply details of the planned event date, organisation, venue, time, likely numbers in the audience and type of talk required. We look forward to seeing you.
