Join us for an exclusive 'Behind the Scenes' tour of our Carriage & Wagon department.....

Your guide will meet you and the rest of the group you will be with for your exclusive tour (max 12 people), on the platform at Broadway Station, and you will board our 10.15am mid-morning service to Winchcombe. During your 25-minute journey, your guide will explain, some of the history of our line, including the history of our famous viaduct. You will then arrive at Winchcombe station, where you will join your guide for mid-morning refreshments and a presentation about the history of our railway. You will then have a behind the scenes tour of our carriage and wagon department, and railway yard, with members of the department, where you will be able to see the exquisite work, our volunteers do in maintaining our fleet of BR Mk1 carriages that are some 60-70 years old. The very carriages you will be travelling in on our line. Following your tour, you will return to Toddington for a Ploughman’s Lunch and a piece of our famous cake in our new café. You will also be presented with a ‘goodie’ bag and certificate as a souvenir of your visit.

You will then be free to travel to Cheltenham Race Course Station if you want to with your ticket, or return to Broadway Station at your leisure.

Please note, this experience is only suitable for those over 16 years old and you must be wearing closed toe, solid shoes for the tour. Please note the yard tour is only suitable for those who are fully mobile, due to the very uneven surfaces.
